Does Habersham County offer homestead exemption?

Habersham County disabled veterans can receive a property tax exemption of up to $121,812 (for 2025) off the 40% assessed value of their homestead, available to those with service-connected disabilities or 100% total disability. Apply via the Habersham County Tax Assessor’s office by April 1, with proof of disability.

Can I get a FREE National Parks Pass?

Current US military and dependents, Gold Star Families, and US military veterans are eligible to receive free annual or lifetime passes which cover entrance or standard amenity (day-use) fees at national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and other federal recreational lands. These free passes are a way to thank US military members for their support of our country and to encourage them to explore recreational opportunities on their public lands and waters.

What if I have a medical emergency and cannot get to a VA facility?

If you need urgent care and cannot make it to a Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), you can visit an Urgent Care Center, both in-network or out. Be sure to report the visit within 72 hours!

How do I report my visit to a local Urgent Care facility?

If you went to the ER or Urgent Care for an immediate need, you must report the visit within 72 hours for the VA to cover the cost (depending upon the circumstances)
